What's included in an end of tenancy clean?

Every room, top to bottom. In the kitchen that means the worktops, tiles, hob, extractor, sink and the inside of every cupboard. Bathrooms are descaled, and throughout we clean inside windows, skirting boards, doors, switches and radiators, then vacuum and mop the floors. See the full checklist.

Is oven cleaning included in the price?

The oven interior is an add-on: a single oven interior is £55, covering the racks, trays, cavity and door glass. The hob and extractor are wiped as part of every clean. A fridge-freezer interior is £25, and a washing machine and dishwasher (up to one of each) £19. More on oven cleaning.

Is carpet cleaning included?

Carpets are always vacuumed. Carpet cleaning is carried out by our independent partner, from £35 a room and £25 for hall, stairs and landing, confirmed separately. Check your tenancy agreement and check-in report: if the carpets were professionally cleaned when you moved in, your landlord can expect the same when you leave.

What does your deposit-back guarantee cover?

Every end of tenancy clean includes our deposit-back guarantee, backed by our 72-hour re-clean guarantee: if your letting agent or landlord raises a cleaning point in the agreed work, tell us within 72 hours of completion and we come back and re-clean it free. It doesn't cover damage, fair wear and tear, or areas we couldn't reach on the day.

Can my landlord make me use a professional cleaner?

No. Under the Tenant Fees Act 2019, a landlord in England can't make you pay for a professional clean. They can deduct from your deposit if the property isn't returned as clean as it was at check-in, allowing for fair wear and tear. A professional clean is the simplest way to avoid that argument.

How long does an end of tenancy clean take?

Usually 3 to 4 hours for a studio or 1 bed flat and 5 to 8 hours for bigger homes. We send more cleaners to larger properties, so most cleans are finished in a day.

Do I need to be there? Can you collect the keys?

You don't need to be there. Many tenants leave keys with a concierge, a neighbour or the letting agent, and we can collect and return them for you.

Do you bring products and equipment? What about parking?

We bring all the products and equipment. If your street is pay-and-display, a controlled parking zone or inside the Congestion Charge zone, we tell you any parking cost before you book.
